Priyanka Chopra Jonas Reportedly Flouted Lockdown Rules In London To Visit Salon; Actor’s Team Claims She Was ‘Legally Exempted From The Rule'

Priyanka Chopra Jonas has been in London ever since the UK went under the Coronavirus lockdown, due to new strain of the deadly virus. Priyanka, who resumed work recently kick-started the shooting of her upcoming film Text For You in the UK. She also made posts as she got busy with her next project. Now, just recently, it was reported that PeeCee visited a salon in London with her mom Madhu Chopra and pet Diana. While the actress reportedly flouted lockdown rules, her team denied and rubbished claims, stating otherwise.
Speaking with Metro.co.uk, Priyanka Chopra Jonas' spokesperson said that actress was “legally exempted from the rule" when she headed out of home to visit the salon with her mom. The spokesperson said, “‘The salon was opened privately for the production and everyone involved had been tested and followed both the DCMS working guidelines and the film production regulations.” PeeCee’s representative added, “As I am sure you are aware, Film and TV production is permitted to continue in the UK, and locations can continue to accommodate shoots and recces that are carried out in-line with government guidelines.”
Meanwhile, as it was reported that the police were alerted when Priyanka visited the salon, the spokesperson also shared some details in the matter. And, the rep said, “The exemption paperwork legally permitting her to be there was provided to the police, and they left satisfied.” According to the report, celebrity stylist Josh Wood, who was present at the salon was given a verbal warning by the officials against breaching lockdown rules. The report stated that no penalty on the matter was issued to him.
As per the report, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said that the police were informed about the breaching of lockdown rules on January 6, Wednesday at about 17:40hrs. They were told that a breach is taking place on Lansdowne Mews, Notting Hill. The officials arrived at the location, gave a warning and no penalties were issued. Speaking of the strict lockdown rules in the UK, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a new nation-wide lockdown on Monday in order to slow down the spread of COVID-19 positive cases.
